Presence first
I show up regulated, attentive, and willing to stay with the real conversation rather than rush toward a tidy answer.
My Story
I know what it is to be in the middle of change, to lose the map, and to need someone who can notice what is still true.
I am a husband, a dad, a coach, and a writer. Family is at the centre of my life. I have been with my wife Sara for almost 30 years, married 23 years. We have 3 amazing kids, now teenagers, two of them getting ready to launch.
We have lived overseas, travelled to more than 25 countries with kids, and built a life with plenty of movement, adventure, and change. We currently live on the side of a mountain in Western Canada.
Professionally, I have led teams, built a business, consulted, advised, mentored, and coached. Supporting others in meeting their potential has been the most enjoyable and rewarding part of that journey.
I also write regularly at Point B Coaching and Random Missives and I am committed to publishing 1,000 posts.
Men’s work is a huge part of my life. Facilitating and/or participating in 200+ circles, workshops, and retreats.
I have done a lot of inner work. Breath work, fasting, cold exposure, and plant medicine. We host retreats at our home and engage regularly with a wide range of people showing up to take a look at what runs their life.
I know what it is to lose 80 pounds and still have work to do around food.
…and I became a coach because I needed one.
How I Work
Noticing is careful attention that recognizes meaning. It is seeing what matters. In coaching, it means listening with enough presence, care, and specificity that something in you feels known.
I show up regulated, attentive, and willing to stay with the real conversation rather than rush toward a tidy answer.
I track the details, read what you write, listen to what you say, and reflect back what I see with care.
I know transition, pressure, shame, depression, family, work, change, and the strange middle where the old map stops working.
I ask instead of assume. I follow the thread that's actually yours, not one I walked in with.
I say the thing that's real, even when it's uncomfortable, because clarity serves you more than comfort does.
This is not me standing over you with a clipboard and expectations. It is both of us in it together, looking honestly at what is here.
What Matters To Me
My life is centred around my marriage and family. This is my centre and what I always come back to.
